A member of the Financial Management Association, Monica Johnson Schroeder (SCS) is an experienced executive who started working as an office assistant before pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance to further her career. A 1996 graduate of Bayou La Batre, Alabama’s Peter F. Alba High School, Monica Johnson Schroeder worked with Johnson Shipbuilding until 1998, when she was hired as an administrative assistant by AmSouth Bank, where she processed bank card applications and assisted the human resources department with the management of personnel files, among other responsibilities.
From 1999 to 2007, Monica Johnson Schroeder (SCS) served as a senior closing specialist with Collateral Real Estate Capital and closed commercial real estate loans purchased by Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and various high-profile commercial mortgage-backed securities lenders. She held a similar position with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage from 2007 to 2010.
Since 2010, she has served as vice president of originations at Capital One Multifamily Financing’s Birmingham, Alabama office. She enrolled at Jefferson State Community College in 2008 and completed her bachelor’s degree in finance in 2012 at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where she earned the Tommy and Anne Hagwood Endowed Scholarship in Real Estate in consecutive years.
